Sharing Our Lives...

This site harbors a journal for our daughter, Kaitlynn Marie Wellman who lost her battle with Hurler Syndrome in 2004.  She was 13 years old.  There are other places to explore on the site as well as Kaitlynn's Journal so stay long and post often!

Welcome Back...

This is Kaity's third journal location. A couple of years ago I moved her journal from Caringbridge to the MPS Forum site but until now I didn't have a convenient way to make entries. I think I will like this new site and I'm anxious to get back to journaling.

Kaity's Journal has made its third move since 2004.  Over the years, a countless number of people have read it in its entirety.  It is a sad story but I’ve been told that it has touched many hearts.  I hope it will touch yours as well.

Drop by often... and leave us a message when you can!

I just had to share my birthday message from our good friend "King Zach." The video is just precious to me. Thanks to his parents, Bren and John for making my birthday so very special. Sending many cyber hugs and kisses!!!! ~Jess

Zach has Mucolipidosis ML II-III / I-Cell, a rare genetic disorder similar to the same disorder our daughter Kaitlynn had. You can read more about Zach by visiting his Caringbridge Journal.

Exploring Southern California
Sunday, 26 April 2009 17:59

Hello from sunny California!  I’ve been spending the month of April with my husband traveling over many areas in the southern region of California.  The first week was fairly uneventful and chilly weather, in Los Angeles, but the second week was well worth the trip!  We traveled to Camarillo which is about 65 miles outside of Los Angeles.  The best part was when Brian purchased  a rental car for me.   I explored the coastline while he worked.  I spent my evenings researching where I would drive and then would take off in the mornings and not return until late afternoon.  It was an awesome feeling of independence and  I thoroughly enjoyed exploring several coastal communities on my own.

One of the areas that held my interest was the missions of Southern California.  I was able to visit two of these historic landmarks and enjoyed photographing the architecture.  I also enjoyed several outdoor malls, the beaches, and antique shopping in the little town of Carpenteria, CA.

Brian and I will start the three day drive home this week.  I can only imagine what our yard looks like.  We'll probably spend our first week doing nothing but clean up!  Oh well, at least being gone a month means most of the cold weather in Indiana is now gone!

This month's wallpapers have a Bougainvillea theme!  The flower is widely blooming in California right now.  I hope you enjoy the photos!
